What's that? Don't tell me. Is it lace?
Why I do believe it is......
The pattern is Seascape from the latest Knitty. The yarn is Knit Picks shadow in Grape Jelly from my stash.
Okay, so the pattern is not that difficult, but it is lace and it was one of my goals for this year. My actual statement was "Knit some proper lace work (with lace weight yarn)". Do you think it qualifies? I think I will give this to my Aunt Didi. I think she will like it.
But o-oh! What's this?
I don't think it is supposed to look like that! Off to the frog pond we go.
Something that has been finished for a while but hasn't made an appearance here yet is the Tetris Blanket. You remember Tetris don't you, the computer game? Here it is in all its multicoloured glory!
Pattern: Tetris Blanket, free pattern here
Yarn: Knit Picks Swish Worsted
Modifications: I ditched the "Mock Crochet" edging. It was a bit too frilly for the techno vibe in my opinion. I added a simple garter stitch border and finished off with Elizabeth Zimmerman's "Sideways Border" from the Knitter's Almanac to give it a nice stretchy edging.
The blanket if for Chi Wai's best friend Jason and his wife Shino who are expecting a baby boy in August. Chi Wai helped me choose the pattern. Can you tell? I hope they like it.
Just in case you were wondering, Ravelry is still blocked here. I just checked.

hi, love the blanket! i used to be the best tetris player, but i think im a bit rusty now.
and you are right i defintely should have stocked up my stash better before leaving the US.
Cool blanket - v retro. Love the edging, am keen to try that one out myself some time.
Hurrah for lacework! It's exciting to see you accomplishing the goals you set (my queue of projects just keeps growing and growing ... too easily distracted).
defiantly lace i say! and it's gorgeous! i love the color and the pattern
lace is way beyond my capabilities... apparently i'm still working on stitch counting ; ) but thanks for the pep talk cause it really does help! in fact the bonus is that there was a very small mistake i couldn't be bothered to fix (every time one of those happen i decide that's what adds "character" to a hand knit piece HAHAHA) so by frogging 4 inches i was able to do that part over and now i'm almost done with the back again!
I'm amazed all the time at how much you manage to knit!! Love the lace pattern. Looks fab and woah how many stitches in taht blanket??!! xx Shaz
Tetris blanket is very cute. I used to love that game , haven't seen it in a long time now.
That definately looks lacey and beautiful. I love the colour and the look of that yarn. I tried making small swatches of lace and it took me forever to do it.
Wow Your blanket is amazing. Great colours.
